Top TEN Things to Love about ASH

255 Acres on Holy Ground
We have 255 acres of wide open space to learn, explore, and connect with nature. In today's busy world, what greater gift can you give your children than to immerse themselves in God's beautiful surroundings in a peaceful, holy setting.
The site of a vatican-verified miracle in 1865, the Academy is nestled in the Holy Land of South Louisiana.

Catholic, Independent Education
Our Catholic identity is embraced through weekly Mass, the sacrament of reconciliation, adoration, espacio, and daily prayer, all through the guidance of our chaplain, Monsignor Keith DeRouen.
As an independent school, we offer the flexibility and strength to drive our own academic excellence, pursuing higher learning, critical thinking, engaging research, and 21st Century teaching methodology.

All Girls Curriculum and Programing
In our unique environment specifically designed to cater to the needs of girls, our students are challenged to learn, grow, become leaders, and achieve their greatest hopes and dreams. Our Sacred Heart girls are scientists, mathematicians, explorers, writers, actors, singers, and athletes. In an environment where they are nurtured and free to grow, they do not hold back.

Mission-Centered, Service Learning
Each year, students in all grades dive deep into Goal III: a social awareness that impels to action. They not only learn about stewardship and service in the classroom. They go out into our community to actively engage and contribute. Service opportunities include helping at the Thensted Center in Grand Coteau, nursing homes, Second Harvest Food Bank, animal shelters, and more. This service mindset becomes a lifelong mission to give back in meaningful ways.

Expert Faculty
As experts in educating girls, our experienced faculty create a learning-rich environment where girls are challenged to think outside of the box, imagine creative solutions to real-world problems, and build resilience to persevere through challenges. With small class sizes, girls are known and loved for their unique qualities and teaching methods are adapted so that each girl can receive the individualized attention that she requires to succeed.

Travelling Adventures
Learning does not end in the classroom at the Academy. Girls are encouraged to live out Goal V: personal growth in an atmosphere of wise freedom as they go out and experience the world around them on overnight adventures. Whether spending a week in New York working at a farm-to-table farm, travelling to Europe on exchange, or even just an overnight trip to Houston, the girls spread their wings and find out just how far they can go.
