Welcome to the Academy of the Sacred Heart, where for more than 200 years we have formed women of faith, intellect, courage, and compassion in the heart of Acadiana.

It is both a privilege and a joy to serve as Head of School at my alma mater.  As a member of the Class of 1989, I know firsthand the transformative power of a Sacred Heart education.  The Five Goals of Sacred Heart- faith, intellect, social awareness, community, and personal growth- have shaped my life and continue to guide every aspect of our school today.

At the Academy, every girl is known, valued, and loved.  We believe that each student possesses unique gifts, and we are committed to helping her discover those gifts while developing the confidence, character, and leadership needed to flourish in an ever-changing world.  Out purpose is not simply to educate students academically, but to form the whole person- mind and heart- so that each young woman lives a life of meaning, purpose, and service.

Rooted in the vision of St. Madeleine Sophie Barat, our mission extends far beyond the classroom.  Girls are encouraged to think deeply, lead boldly, build meaningful relationships, and respond generously to the needs of others.  Through the Sacred Heart Goals and Criteria, they develop a lifelong love of learning, a deep and personal faith, the ability to make wise choices, and a servant's heart.

As part of an international network of more than 150 Sacred Heart schools worldwide- including 25 schools in the United States and Canada- our students are connected to a global community that inspires them to make a difference wherever life leads.
