Liturgies

The entire school community comes together each week to celebrate the Eucharist.  School Masses are open to parents, grandparents, and other special guests.

Masses are planned by Campus Ministry and individual classes.

Espacio

The school community comes together regularly for "Espacio"- a time of community prayer and spiritual reflection that is led by students and/or faculty.

A time of intentional, thoughtful reflection and meditation, Espacio provides an opportunity to quiet the noise of obligations and busy life and focus on deepening our faith and opening ourselves to the transforming power of God.

Daily Prayer

All grades on campus participate in daily prayer at morning assembly, in Chapel services, and before meals.

Day of Service

Each year to celebrate the Feast of St. Rose Philippine Duchesne, the entire school community, from PreK 3 through Grade 12, engages in a Day of Service.  Service opportunities are performed both on campus and off site in partnership with local nonprofit organizations.

Class Retreats

Retreats are regularly held for students in grades 6-12, providing them time away from daily studies to nurture their spiritual lives and deepen their relationship with God and to one another. During the course of a retreat, students are able to more fully and authentically connect with their classmates, to reflect upon their own unique purpose in life, and to immerse without distraction in the essence of our Sacred Heart mission. 

Feast Days

Special celebratory Masses, known as "Feast Days", are held throughout the year to commemorate important event and to recognize holy days of obligation.  

Campus Ministry

Our Upper School Campus Ministry leads our entire school community with Mass and feast day preparations and direct service to those in need.  

Chapel

Chapel services are planned each week by different classes, from Primary to Prep to Upper School and are a time for student-led praise and worship

Service Opportunities

Goall III, a social awareness which impels to action, calls us to serve.  Some of our service opportunities include stuffing stockings for Christmas for local Grand Coteau children, volunteering at Second Harvest Food Bank, and assisting with maintenance work at the Cerebral Palsy Clinic in Opelousas. Service could also be visiting the elderly in our community and assisting with light house and yardwork, or spending time on the playground with our youngest students.
